These do not come with any instructions or directions. While I found some for a similar set on the electrify bike.com site, they were of little use as the sensors do not fit onto my short-handled Shimano brake lever brackets from any angle where the magnet might be in a position to activate as designed. Also, the 860 C Color display for TSDZ2 OSF doesn't seem to have any indicator on it for when the cutoff is activated, such as discussed in the one set of directions I found on site. Sending them back, as I am still confident in the electrify bike team's customer service.

In the past I've always used brake levers with integrated sensors when possible and magnetic sensors otherwise. I bought these just out of curiosity not knowing how they worked. Turns out, they work great on any bike with cable actuated brakes (not hydraulic).\n\nI have no idea why they're called "hidden wire" as the wire is no more hidden than on any other brake sensor. This sensor is best installed anywhere along the brake cable, preferably where there is cable housing. The housing ends fit into recesses on both ends of the device and the inner cable threads though the device. A plastic bead that's trapped inside grips the inner cable and moves with it when the brake is applied. The switch is open when the bead is at one end of it's travel and closes when it moves away from that end. An arrow shows you which direction of movement causes activation so the brake cable must be threaded in the proper direction. About an inch of housing must be removed at the point of installation to account for the length of the body of the sensor.\n\nIf you install the sensor at the end of a length of housing, an optional plastic ferrule (supplied) is inserted in the other end of the sensor and provides a tip for insertion into the brake lever or housing stop on the bike frame where the housing used to go. You can also install this where there isn't any cable housing but that requires that you securely attach the device to the bike frame (w/epoxy or a zip tie) so it stays perfectly still.
